Honeymoon- July 19-23

I know this is super late...but I FINALLY have a free day to sit down and blog about our wonderful Honeymoon Cruise to the Bahamas!

It was FABULOUS! We went with Katie and Jason Enlow, who got married two weeks before us. We were so excited to go together that Katie and I made matching shirts!! These shirts helped us gain special privileges on the boat that were SO unexpected! For example, we were able to cut to the front of the line to get on the ship! It was great!

They fed us sooo well- 5 course meals every night- soup, salad, appetizer, main course, and dessert! We had fish, lamb chops, steak, etc. Also, we were surprised with a honeymoon dessert and the birthday song- except they said "happy honeymoon" rather than "happy birthday". LOL

We were also surprised by the towel creatures that were in our room each night!

The second day at sea we ported at Royal Caribbean's private island- CocoCay! It was beautiful! We took a ferry ride to get to the island. There were cute little souvenir shops where we got a CocoCay coffee mug! We had BBQ for lunch, took rafts and swam out to the floating dock, relaxed on a hammock, and laid out on the lounge chairs! It was so windy that the sand was being kicked up in our faces! Come to find out...there was tropical storm- Bonnie in the area. LOL

The next day we ported at Nassau, Bahamas and took an excursion to Discover Atlantis on Paradise Island- we saw the Atlantis Hotel, beautiful sculptures in the casino, and all kinds of marine life. I even saw a real conch in the shell! Creepy! We also walked around downtown Nassau and stopped by the Hard Rock Cafe, we picked up two coffee mugs at the souvenir shops, we spotted a Starbucks, and we found our ferry boat- Caribbean Queen!

On our last day, we were at sea and it was fun to relax on the boat! We got a couples massage which was wonderful, but we were conned into buying their products which was another hundred dollars!! Ridiculous! We laid out by the pool, and played in the casino (I played blackjack and won back my money plus $10! Yay me!). That night we watched a show and took pictures of the beautiful sunset!

We had a wonderful trip and hope we can do something like it again soon! Thanks for going with us Katie and Jason! It was a blast!! :)

June Birthdays

Last month Kyle and I celebrated both of our birthdays. Both of us were 25 years old for exactly 15 days! Kyle's birthday was June 15th and mine was on June 30th. For his 25th birthday, he wanted to go to Golden Corral and we had a friend who worked there and I told her it was his birthday- so the whole crew came over and sang to him and put a clean coffee filter on his head that said- Happy Birthday Kyle! It was hilarious! :) Kyle was so embarrassed. We didn't do much because we don't have a lot of money to spend, but at the end of the night I gave him his first- HUSBAND birthday card! I love FIRSTS!
15 days later we celebrated my 26th birthday! Wow- I've crossed over the halfway mark and am now closer to 30! It's crazy how quickly we grow up. Isn't that always what we dream about when we're little girls though? Growing up, getting married, having a job and a nice home, and little feet running around. I have loved the 20's so far though. It's nice being on my own, making my own decisions, being able to drink if I choose to, and renting a car.
Anyways...for my birthday, I had to be at a math workshop all day, but my co-teachers threw me a little party with cookie cake, a birthday balloon, and the wonderful birthday song!

Then, when I got home Kyle surprised me by taking me to dinner at:

I am in love with this restaurant!
I got a cosmopolitan drink- Delicious!

A bang bang shrimp appetizer (which is the best appetizer in the world!)

And for the main course- filet mignon with garlic potatoes and asparagus! (I was so excited when the food came I forgot to take a picture! LOL)
In my opinion, it is the best restaurant meal ever! I was in love! :)

Then Kyle took me to Starbucks for my favorite coffee drink- Caramel Macchiato! My night wouldn't be complete without coffee- if you know me at ALL! :)

Then we went to see Eclipse in theaters.

It's neat to know the movie came out on my birthday. It was wonderful! The best part was when Kyle started laughing when Edward removed Victoria's head from her body. He whispered over to me- "Why am I the only one who finds this hilarious?" Obviously, you can tell he never read the Twilight series. :)
Overall- it was a wonderful evening!

Summer Fun!

Summer has begun and what a ride it has been so far! Kyle and I had a very interesting morning. About 2 weeks ago, Kyle got in an accident with the Eclipse- a 3 car pile up- he was rear-ended and it caused him to hit the car in front. There didn't seem to be a lot of exterior damage, but when a car inspector came he said that the barrier between the back bumper and trunk was shattered and the radio went into the dashboard and Kyle said after the accident that he couldn't get out of 1st gear driving home. So the lady that hit him is paying for all the repairs.

So yesterday, we got a call saying that the lady who hit us is giving us a rental car while the Eclipse is in the shop. Yay! Our appointment to pick up the car was 11 am this morning, so Kyle and I get out to Enterprise at 11 and they said they weren't expecting us til 1 pm, so we had to wait a little while for them to send another car over from another place. We also found out that because we don't have 'full coverage insurance' we have to pay for insurance on the rental which is over $16 a day! They called the insurance agency that was paying for our rental to see if they could cover the insurance too- and they said absolutely no way. Wonderful. So who knows how many days the Eclipse will be in the shop and how long we'll need the rental. But we eventually got the car and I got to drive it back to the apt. On the way home, I was driving behind Kyle (who was in the Civic) and all of a sudden, I see the Civic muffler flapping in the wind! I start freaking out and call Kyle to go slow so it doesn't completely fall off. This is what it looks like when we finally pull into the parking lot.

It was completely seared off! No wonder it was so stinking loud! LOL

So then we have to take the Eclipse to the shop and Kyle tries to start the car and it's completely DEAD! AGAIN!! Granted...it has been sitting for over 2 weeks because we were afraid to drive it before someone came to look at it. So- this is exactly what we want from BOTH modes of transportation- a broken muffler on one and no power whatsoever on the other! FABULOUS! Kyle prays that it just needs to be jumped so he goes around knocking on all the doors in our apartment complex looking for jumper cables- and we're shocked no one is home on a FRIDAY AFTERNOON! DUH! So we take the rental to Target and buy some jumper cables. Which we should have on us anyway- who knows when we'll use them again with our unreliable vehicles! We finally get the Eclipse running and start driving to the auto shop. I'm following him in the rental and he seems to be going awfully fast for a car that shouldn't be able to get out of 1st gear! He decides to get on the highway and I can barely keep up because I'm on the phone with Kelsey (telling her about our tragic day! LOL). Later Kyle tells me that he thinks jumping the car reset something that triggered the transmission (don't ask- I really don't understand) so the gears are working fine- which is the first piece of good news we've had all day.
So that was our wonderful morning. At least it ended on a good note and now all we need to worry about is getting the Civic fixed. We were supposed to go to Texas this weekend, but with all our car trouble it's a good thing we decided to wait. Plus- being on this Dave Ramsey budget- we're running out of money quick and can't afford to do anything!

In other news- the summer has been very relaxing so far. Here are some pictures from Memorial Weekend and Kelsey's birthday!
